Cycling Route 1: Tsuen Wan Waterfront

With stunning sea views and sunsets along the way, the Tsuen Wan waterfront is an ideal, easy route for beginners and children! Officially opened in 2021, it takes only 10-minute walk from Tsuen Wan West MTR Station, Exit B1.
The entire cycling path is 2.3 kilometres long, taking about 20 minutes to cycle back and forth. You can enjoy landmarks like the Pak Lai Strait, Ting Kau Bridge, and Tsing Ma Bridge; there are also numerous recreational facilities along the route for kids to take breaks.
Along the Tsuen Wan Waterfront Park, you can enjoy beautiful views of Tsing Yi, the Lamma Channel, and Ting Kau Bridge from the Tsuen Wan West waterfront.

Family Cycling Route 3: Sha Tin to Tai Mei Tuk

Route Sha Tin to Tai Mei Tuk is one of Hong Kong's classic cycling routes, spanning 22 kilometres (about 2-3 hours at a leisurely pace) primarily on flat terrain. If this route seems too long, you can rent a bike directly at Tai Po Waterfront Park and ride towards Tai Mei Tuk, or head towards Tai Po Industrial Estate, which is only 1.5 kilometres long, suitable for younger kids.

Family Cycling Route 4: Tseung Kwan O Waterfront

Notably, the cycling path is 4 metres wide, with clear colour-coded markings to separate pedestrian pathways from cycling lanes, reducing the risk of accidents, so parents can feel safe letting their children ride.

You can start by renting a bike at the Tsui Hong Cycling Hub, then cycle along the path towards Tuen Mun Town Centre, reaching Butterfly Bay Park and finally the tunnel, where you’ll find popular photo spots with expansive grass and palm trees.
The entire round trip is about 20 kilometres, taking approximately 2.5 hours at a leisurely pace. However, be cautious during the last kilometre on the road; it’s recommended to walk the bike on the sidewalk if you're a beginner or with children, which will lead you to the tunnel entrance in about 10 minutes.
